Bebob Box-VM V-Mount Power Supply for Accessories

The Box-VM (VM stands for V-Mount aka V-Lock) solves the problem of powering camera accessories (such as the HVX-200).

Bebob Box-VM

The Box-VM is structured similarly to the currently available Box-FSand uses an IDX V-Mount Battery Type Endura 7 or Endura 7S instead of the Firestore.

Bebob Box-VM

The 14.4V voltage delivered by the battery is supplied directly or can also be converted to 8.4Vand distributed to various output points (1-D-Tap and 3 hirose-4). The hirose connections aredesigned to supply power to the camera and/or a wireless transmitter. There is an additionaldimmable D-Tap output point for powering a camera light.

Bebob Box-VM

The maximum output of the battery is 50W. Depending on how many and which accessories areconnected, the camera light can be equipped with bulbs between 10 and 50 W.

The Twist D-Tap output point delivers 14.4V to supply power to a camera light or anexternal LCD monitor. The matching plug is a regular D-Tap that can be mounted inboth directions with the cable facing either left or right.

Bebob Box-VM

The D-Tap output point is also equipped with a dimmer and manages the SoftStartfunction to avoid high charges that would damage the battery when turning on thecamera. If a monitor, for example, is used on the D-Tap output point rather thana spotlight, then the dimmer has to be set to the maximum capacity.

Bebob Box-VM

The Box-VM also serves as a voltage/power adapter between the V-Mount batteryand the camera and its accessories. Three hirose 4-pin output points deliver8.4V/12V for the camera's power supply and/or the wireless microphone receiver.

Should you want to work without a tripod at some point, then the Box-VM can be usedas an additional support surface and offers protection for the camera at the same time.

Bebob Box-VM

On its topside the Box-VM has a pin and a quarter inch screw to be fastened under thecamera. Just as in the case of a tripod stand, the screw must be tightened in orderto firmly fix the Box-VM to the bottom of the camera.

On the bottom of the Box there are two mounting points for a tripod plate (a hole witha quarter inch thread) which allows it to be attached to any type of tripod.

Bebob Box-VM

The Box-VM is made of aluminum/synthetic material and therefore weighs only about 700g.
